A Eps Continuous Pre-Expander is a fully automatic machine for expanding EPS. The pre-expander guarantees excellent performance and highest quality over time during the EPS processing stage:

The pre-expander features an innovative expansion chamber designed to ensure an even distribution of steam. The fluidized bed is designed to ensure that the air diffuses evenly inside it to dry the material quickly and to speed up the discharge stage.
The unloading system ensures smooth passage of material through the pneumatic conveyor without altering the specific properties of the individual beads.

EPS batch pre-expander main body
• Expansion chamber is made of SUS 304 stainless steel, with inner cylinder and outer side, with thermal insulation layer.
• The stirrer is made of SUS 304 stainless steel, and the speed can be adjusted by the frequency converter in different cooking stages.
• Drain door is located on the side of the container for quick chamber emptying.
• Safety fences around the top and stairs.
Screw Loading System A screw loader with a tank (approx. 1.5 m3 volume, 1200kg EPS beads) is used to load the EPS resin to the metering unit. It is then filled into the expansion chamber by gravity.
Fluidized bed dryer The top has a waste steam collection hood, the inner bottom plate is made of SUS 304 stainless steel, and the dryer is equipped with a steam-air heat exchanger to avoid the thermal shock of the beads. At the end of the dryer, there is a rotating system that delivers EPS beads to designated silos.
second expansion unit
A second expansion system can be used with this EPS pre-expander for lower densities. The PLC controls the 2nd expansion with a fixed volume. The filling from the silo to the machine is done by a vacuum fan.

Main cabinet with safety lock, equipped with Delta/Siemens touch screen and PLC.
All parameters and recipes can be added, modified and saved in the PLC.
Densitometer Weighing and Printing Unit
After each cycle, a density weighing system will draw a fixed volume of material from the dryer and weigh it. Density data can be saved in the PLC or printed on paper.
