Continuous eps pre-expanders are now almost obsolete. First, the capacity is small. This type of expander is generally of type 90, 110 or 120, while automatic intermittent pre-expanders are of type 140, 150, 160, 180 or 200. Secondly, the continuous pre-expander consumes more steam and cannot be low-density beads. An automatic batch pre-expander can save almost half of the steam to make beads of the same capacity and can get a low density of about 4kg/m3. So, don't just be fooled by the low prices.
If you want to make lost foam cast eps products, then a normal pre-expander is not for you. You need to choose a special pre-foaming machine for lost foam. The eps beads used in lost foam casting are usually very small, and the density of the finished product is also very high, and some even reach 50kg/m3 or even higher. They also require the beads to be uniform. The special pre-foaming machine for lost foam can perform very precise foaming when foaming high-density beads, which is impossible for ordinary pre-foaming machines.
